Andrew is a keen outdoorsman with a wide range of skills. He is primarily a maker having studied Fine Art Sculpture in England. He has always had a love for the outdoors and wilderness and slept in his first shelter on some common woodland in England at the age of 11. He was a keen Scout growing up and was chairman of a venture scout group. Hiking and rock climbing were his passions taking courses at Plas Y Brenin the national mountain centre in Wales and venturing on trips to the Peak district and Malta.
Andrew crossed the pond in 2013 wanting more of a wilderness experience than the UK had to offer and followed a yearlong immersion course with Tim Smith at Jack Mountian Bushcraft. It was a changing point for him and a lifelong pursuit of bushcraft, wilderness living and crafting began in earnest. Spending a season as a wilderness hostel manager was a great excuse where any spare moment was spent climbing mountains, hiking and crafting.
The opportunity to learn to ski and wanting to explore the wilds in winter turned into taking a Mountain Adventure Skills Course covering everything from ski touring to canoeing and climbing. Andrew took a range of qualifications and went on to spend the summer guiding groups on hikes through the Rocky Mountains. He then went on to travel throughout Canada building indoor climbing walls.
After a short period in the UK he now considers Canada his home. He is currently building his own home and enjoying the outdoors as much as he can with his wife, Roxane and young son.
