The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry! Luckily, help is on the way. At least, it should be if you’ve told people where you’re going, when you plan to return and have stuck to your route. But would you be able to stay alive until they found you…even if it took 72 hours? In Wild Survival, you will learn about wilderness survival- becoming competent at techniques that could one-day help you stay alive, even comfortable in a survival situation lasting up to 72+ hours.  You will build a personalized, light-weight and portable survival kit for outdoor recreation. We will study the potentials of each component carefully and practice using every article to its full extent.

Prerequisite: Discover Camping (or by challenging the Discover Camping course)

Man With No Gear

Bare-Handed Survival (6 Days, 5 Nights) • $1150.00

Course Details

In Bare-Handed Survival, we address the critically life-threatening situation that arises when you can no longer rely on your gear to meet your basic human needs. Perhaps it was swept away? Or maybe you can not safely return to your camp and get it? Not to worry- the natural world can meet all your basic needs if you know how to transform the resources available all around you into tools for your survival. Our instructors will teach you how to stay alive with your own two hands and nothing but the clothes on your back.

Extended Wilderness Survival (6 Days, 5 Nights) •

Sometimes we venture so far, or so long into the wilderness that our connection with the rest of the world becomes tenuous. On these epic wilderness adventures, we know that help is not on the way anytime soon, and it might take weeks for the echoes of our misfortune to be felt by civilization. Extended Wilderness Survival builds on the essential skills taught in Wild Survival, preparing wilderness adventurers for the physical and mental challenges of an extended survival situations lasting 14+ days.

Prerequisite: Wild Survival (or by challenging Wild Survival)
