In the Exploration of Timeless Hunting Tools course, you will handle and practice with historic reproductions of ancient hunting tools such as long-bows, slings, spears and Atlatls. Our instructors will explain the historical context and fabrication of each weapon, as well as the underlying mechanisms and technique required for safe and successful manipulation of the tool. In exercises, with both stationary and moving targets, you will have an opportunity to apply your knowledge in context. Learn how these iconic symbols of our past can be used to feed and protect us in survival situations, being as effective today as they were for our ancestors.

The ability to read and interpret the signs of the passage of animals in their natural habits is one of the most important and rewarding skills of Bushcraft. In Stone Age Hunting Tools and Weapons, we will craft ancient hunting tools such as a long-bow, a spear, a sling-shot, arrows and arrowheads made with bone, antler and flint- bringing history alive with your own hands. These tools are works of art- their functionality and purpose; their balance and potential; their spiritual value; become more evident with each stroke you put into them.

Survival Trapping Strategies (6 Days, 5 Nights) • $1300.00
Course Details
In Survival Trapping Strategies, you will study and build a number of simple, tested and proven traps (in a controlled, outdoor classroom workshop) and discuss various trapping strategies that would greatly enhance your chances of meeting your nutritional needs in a survival situation. Learn their history, scales, limitations and responsible use. In compliance with BC Wildlife Conservation laws, no traps will be set or left unsupervised during this course and no animals will be injured or trapped.
