Detailed Description:

Nuts and Seeds have an important role to play in a healthy diet- providing nutrition alternatives to animal fats and proteins. However, store-bought cultivated nuts and seeds are often relatively expensive imports that often need to travel long distances before they arrive at our doorsteps. The exploited labor used to pick and gather tropical nuts and the environmental impact of nut farming are also a controversial subjects.

In the Nuts and Seeds course, we explore tasty nuts and seeds that can be wild-harvested. We will practice ancient DIY processes that have allowed pioneers and people living in the wilderness to easily store and preserve natures most precious bounties. Our instructors will show you how to reproduce, plant and care for 10 species of nut trees and edible seed plants- so you can cultivate a healthy supply of plant-based protein close to home.
