Detailed Description:

The idea that form follows function is easy to understand, but often leads us to shapes that only the hopelessly addicted could find appealing. Now consider a watercraft that can cover great distances with minimum effort, is stealthy, almost unsinkable and can be easily writhed from the campsites. The kayak is one of our most beautiful creations that has almost certainly been around for many many thousands of years.

Today most kayaks are made with modern materials and methods. They are superb craft, and have a one size fits all off the shelf availability. They also have a limited optimum performance lifetime. At Timeless Journey®, you can build your kayak using a practical blend of ancient and modern, and the skills will never go out of style or require an enforced update.

With blunt practicality your body shape will dictate the dimensions of your kayak, and lead you on a voyage of discovery that will radiate a wonder, and profound pleasure as your creation takes form. You will be able to understand something about life in another time and place that has denied most people.

As the beauty of your work grows, and takes on a character that is you in boat form, you will feel a pride in a sense of completeness you didn’t even know you were missing. The skills you will learn will never lose their applicability should your body shape or purpose change. You can make a kayak to accommodate them. This boat, tailored and crafted by you, for you with technology from a time before shells.

So, a reasonably eco-friendly, ancient evolution, hand crafted to fit your shape and goals; or an off the shelf, time limited, heavy footprint, modern adaption that 100% will need to be replaced.
